Simon Armitage
Armitage's first book Zoom! was a Poetry Society Book Choice and was short listed for the Whitbread Prize. His second book Kid was also a Whitbread contender and won the Forward Poetry Prize for the Most Promising Poet. He was named London's Sunday Times' Young Writer of the Year, and he was included in the Poetry Society's high-profile New Generation Poets program. Armitage was also named Britain's official Millennium Poet. He has written poetry exclusively for BBC radio and television. He is the co-editor of the Penguin Book of Poetry from Britain and Ireland Since 1945. In San Miguel, Armitage will be conducting workshops. |
