Alfred Corn
Alfred Corn is the author of eight poetry books, including Stake: Selected Poems, 1972 - 1992. A new collection of poems entitled Contradictions, is scheduled with Copper Canyon Press later this year. He has also published a novel, Part of His Story, and a collection of critical essays titled The Metamorphoses of Metaphor. Fellowships and prizes awarded for his poetry include the Guggenheim, the NEA, an Award in Literature from the Academy and Institute of Arts and Letters, and one from the Academy of American Poets. He has taught for many years in the Graduate Writing Program of the school of the Arts at Columbia and held visiting posts at UCLA, the University of Cincinnati, Ohio State University, Sarah Lawrence, and Yale. Corn holds the William and Rita Bell Chair at the University of Tulsa for 2001 - 2002.
