Richard Maxwell
Richard Maxwell, Emeritus, Foothill College, taught
English and Creative Writing and was the co-founder of the
Foothill Writers Conference, now in it's 25th year. His
poetry workshops were a cultural event in the Palo Alto area
and had an unbroken string for 30 years in which a steady
crop of exciting new poets appeared. He was published widely
in journals such as The California Quarterly, Blue
Mesa, and The Painted Bride Quarterly. He was the
author of a chapbook, Palestine, Illinois, and two
books, Self-inflicted Ideas, and The Worst Thing
About Miracles. Maxwell's last book was entitled
Spring and All Those Bones.
