C. D. Wright has published ten volumes of poetry including Deepstep Come Shining; Tremble, Just Whistle; String Light, winner of the Poetry Center Book Award; Further Adventures with You; and Translation of the Gospel Back into Tongues. Her most recent volume is Steal Away: New and Selected Poems published in 2002.Wright has won numerous honors including a Whiting Award, the Witter Bynner Prize, a Lannan Foundation grant, fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Guggenheim Foundation, and the Bunting Institute, and a five-year post as State Poet of Rhode Island.With poet Forrest Gander she edits Lost Roads Publishers. Wright holds the Israel J. Kapstein chair of English at Brown University.
